What is the main difference between Linear TV and the Non-Linear TV?
Linear TV is a service, where the viewer has to watch a scheduled TV program at the particular time and on the particular channel. The broadcaster wants viewers’ attention only to be focused on the TV program and advertises.
The redemption from linear programming opens many opportunities to viewers – from the reception of a programme time-displaced only by a few minutes to repeat consumption of a favourite movie that was recorded some time ago. The boundaries between different forms of TV use are blurring, with their remote control viewers can easily change between a running programme, on demand services or recorded programmes.
Meanwhile, Non-Linear or interactive TV offers content on Demand. Some researches say, that Linear TV is past and the OTT is future.
Is it?
